How time flies!
In what feels like a previous life, as a naïve and overconfident 18-year-old, I packed my bags and moved to Australia. Having no relevant local work experience proved to be a hurdle when trying to find work. I walked down Church St. in Parramatta handing out my resume to every business on the street. Up until that point, my work experience included unpaid work in a kebab shop & door to door sales selling charity and cleaning products. Life in Australia appeared to be very different than what I’d seen in “Home & Away”.
Fast forward to 3 years later and I was a branch manager for a major bank, now living and working in Coogee. Life in Australia started to make sense, I began to understand why people choose to call Australia home.
I made the move to being a broker in 2018 and have never looked back. During my time as a broker, I have worked for a fintech start-up, a boutique mortgage broking firm, and finally, in 2024 I made the leap to being self-employed and owning my own business as a mortgage broker.

I was born in Australia but grew up in Bangalore in the south of India. I was 18 when I moved back to Australia and at the time, I was a competitive athlete. My reason for moving back to Australia was to compete as an oarsmen and a career in finance was not the goal. It’s funny how things work out, what was not the goal soon became what I was most passionate about! Rowing took a backseat and I focused on building a career in finance.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing sport. I’m an avid cricketer and socially play tennis & soccer as well. My partner and I love the outdoors and spend a lot of our time on bush walks and at the beach.
Having spent a little more than half my life in India, I have a unique perspective & appreciation for life in Australia. I’m privileged to have two places I can call home and can empathise with people who have lived here all their lives and with new arrivals who are beginning their journey in Australia.
